Pros and Cons of Metal Roofing
A Recent Trend that is sweeping our humble state is the installation of a metal roof on one’s house. In most PG hostels near Technopark, one can witness these metal roofs. In all practicality metal roofs is always a viable option for flat or steep roofline. It is also a safe option in most weather conditions and also increases the appeal of one’s house to an extent if you do it right. It does, however, come with its own advantages and disadvantages.
The most prominent advantage is the different types of metal roofing available example: Tin, zinc, copper, aluminum and galvanized steel. All of them are extremely durable and will most definitely stand the test of time and last. They can also withstand strong winds and rain which is not the same for traditional Asphalt roofing. Metal roofs also energy efficient as it reflects back solar heat and one can cut back on cooling costs immensely.
The fundamental reason why metal roofing is not seen everywhere is that installation of the metal roof is a bit more expensive than traditional asphalt roofing. Another issue that users have pointed out is that metal roofing is extremely noisy under heavy rain and wind.
